About Tom Foster
Tom is a U.K. and UPC patent litigator with a background in mathematics and natural sciences.
His practice includes high tech patent litigation, with recent cases involving wireless technology, video codecs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cloud computing matters. He represents clients in cutting edge SEP and FRAND cases in the U.K. courts and the UPC, including recently in The Hague, Paris, Mannheim, Lisbon and Central Divisions of the UPC.
Tom also advises clients in the healthcare industry, often in relation to devices at the intersection of healthcare and digital technologies. He advises on trade secret strategies and has litigated the first case in the U.K. courts under the Trade Secrets Directive.
Tom is co-author of the chapter on U.K. patent law in Patent Enforcement in the U.K. and Trans Pacific Countries.
