Sebastien is a  patent litigation expert and partner at Winston Taylor. He litigates before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and has experience trying cases before several local divisions, including in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Portugal.

Sebastien is an SEP and FRAND expert. He has a technical background in applied physics, which supports his work covering a wide range of high‑tech subject matter, including wireless telecommunications (4G, 5G), video codecs (HEVC), semiconductors, mobile‑payment systems, and other consumer‑electronics technologies.

Sebastien also represents clients in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, including medical devices. He completed advanced studies in biotechnology at a university in Belgium. He has experience in national and cross‑border patent litigation and is often instructed to assist with the pan‑European coordination of patent‑litigation strategies.

In addition to his previous experience at another international law firm, Sebastien served as an in‑house European Patent Attorney and Legal IP Manager at a major global flooring manufacturer headquartered in the United States. In that role, he coordinated worldwide patent litigation and settlements. His in‑house experience gives him a broad understanding of the patent life cycle, from drafting to litigation and monetization, which informs his ability to provide practical and commercially-focused advice.
