Philipp is a patent litigator with more than 12 years of professional experience as a lawyer in the field of intellectual property law. He mainly represents clients in the areas of patent and utility model law. Before becoming a member of Heuking’s patent team, he had gained several years of experience in IP and patent litigation at the international law firms Noerr and Simmons & Simmons.
Philipp advises clients from a wide range of technology sectors, with a focus on mechanical engineering, electronics and pharmaceuticals. He has particular expertise in the field of biosimilars and the automotive sector as well as in the enforcement of patents by way of preliminary measures. His daily work also includes cross-border matters and co-operations with patent experts from other jurisdictions.
Since 2019 he holds the title Certified Specialist Lawyer in Intellectual Property Law (Fachanwalt für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz). Philipp is the author of numerous national and international publications in the field of intellectual property law, including a chapter on the patent law aspects in a handbook on artificial intelligence.

Philipp was admitted to the bar in 2011 and joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in October 2018. Before joining Heuking in 2018, he worked as a lawyer in the Düsseldorf offices of Simmons & Simmons (2016-09/2018) and Noerr (2011-2016)
He completed his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Münster, and his law studies at the University of Münster (2002-2007) with a focus on intellectual property law.
