Harrison is bilingual in Korean and English, having moved to the UK as a teenager. He has regularly visited Korea, supporting IP managers and engineers with their patent work and prosecution strategies. As well as his degrees in mathematical physics from Imperial College London and computer science from University of Cambridge, Harrison holds a MSc in microsystems & nanotechnology and a doctorate in enhanced pyroelectric effect from Cranfield University.

Having managed a global patent portfolio for a multinational corporation, forming and adapting patent strategy for matching its ever-evolving business needs and goals, Harrison understands the difficulties involved in developing, and the importance of having, the right Intellectual Property (IP) strategy for the business.

As well as prosecuting patent applications before various patent offices (e.g. the EPO, the UKIPO, the USPTO, CNIPA, RUPTO, KIPO, and others), he has also worked with IP managers and engineers based both in the UK and overseas to harvest inventions and develop patent strategies for the business.

Harrison works across a wide range of electronics and software related technologies including telecommunications, image processing, video compression, computer security, processors, memory devices, mobile phones, unmanned aerial systems, and unmanned underwater vehicles. He has particular experience/interest in Standard Essential Patent (SEP) related cases and patent pools.

Before joining the IP profession, Harrison also worked as a research fellow conducting research in pyroelectricity/ferroelectricity, investigating their potential application in ferroelectric electron emission and energy harvesting technology.
