Meissner Bolte – Germany 2026
JUVE Comment
As a predominantly national patent firm where patent attorneys constitute the majority of fee earners, Meissner Bolte’s mixed litigation practice maintains a solid presence in German litigation, mainly thanks to the ongoing litigation work in national proceedings for key clients: Brita regarding water dispensers, CommScope regarding wi-fi repeaters, Cybex regarding child car seats, and Arçelik regarding kitchen appliances.
Meissner Bolte is primarily known for the litigation work of its patent attorneys, who have been involved once more in multiple nullity proceedings and EPO oppositions. For instance, they are frequently working for Rockwool or Posco at the EPO.
Early 2026 saw the lawyer team strengthened by Wolfgang Götz from Klaka. The arrival of the experienced patent litigator helps the team to establish a more prominent market position. He added some established contacts to German clients to Meissner Bolte’s litigation practice, such as FRITZ! GmbH/AVM in the field of wi-fi technology.
The team now boasts a good mix of senior litigators such as Götz and younger litigators who are very well established with the firm’s regular clients. This lays the foundations for catching up with better-positioned firms such as Grünecker or Vossius in the coming years. To achieve this, however, the team will need to strengthen its underdeveloped presence in pharmaceutical litigation – for example, by recruiting a high-profile professional.
Following the numerous departures over the past three years, the firm has reoriented its litigation team with a forward-looking focus on its young litigators. It already handles more UPC cases than national ones. Its major UPC clients include Brita, Cybex, and Arçelik, as well as the Korean food and biotech company CJ CheilJedang and the South Korean battery technology manufacturer Solus Advanced Materials.
