JUVE Patent

Gulde & Partner – Germany 2026

JUVE Comment

This mixed IP boutique stands out for its active filing practice and representation in infringement actions for clients in the electronics and mobile communications sectors. The team enjoys particular regard among Asian clients. For instance, it files a substantial number of European patent applications on behalf of various companies within the Samsung Group and also represents them in EPO oppositions. The patent attorneys were also once again active in a number of patent infringement and revocation proceedings on behalf of Asian manufacturers such as Oppo, Xiaomi, and Hisense. The patent attorneys have frequently conducted such proceedings in collaboration with external lawyers from CMS Hasche Sigle. However, the firm also has Marco Scheffler, an experienced litigator who is dual qualified, among its ranks.

At present, the firm’s litigation work is primarily focused on German courts. Gulde & Partner appears before the UPC somewhat less frequently than comparable German patent attorney firms. Alongside its litigation activities, the firm’s prosecution practice remains a core pillar. The team continues to handle extensive portfolios for long-standing clients across a broad technical spectrum. In the life sciences sector, however, only patents relating to medical technology play a more significant role. With its steady stream of new patent filings for Asian companies in the background, the firm continues to grow. With the promotion of a further equity partner it strengthened its core areas of electronics, telecommunications, and semiconductors. Furthermore, the firm also bolstered its Munich office by hiring a young patent attorney from a competitor.

Strengths
