JUVE Patent

Hoyng ROKH Monegier – France 2026

JUVE Comment

Among the international firms with strong patent practices in Paris, this IP boutique is a market leader in France. With its broad team of renowned partners around Sabine Agé, Amandine Métier and Benoît Strowel and continuous representation of clients from all technological fields, the firm remains in great shape for both national and pan-European litigation. Over the past year, the firm brought several major disputes to a successful close, often by way of settlement, for clients like Illumina against MGI, Philips against Thales and L’Oreal against Innovation Packaging.

Meanwhile, the team continues to be deeply involved in high-stakes international litigation. A prime example is its global coordinating role for Regeneron in the worldwide defence of its blockbuster drug Eylea against various biosimilar manufacturers and the representation of Biogen in the French parts of cross-border disputes over Tecfidera and Humira. In addition, the work for McDonald Dettwiler & Associates, Nintendo and Sony demonstrates the team’s breadth in hi-tech fields such as antenna and gaming technology.

At the same time, Hoyng ROKH Monégier expanded its presence at the UPC, where the French team frequently acts alongside lawyers and patent attorneys from Germany and the Netherlands. The IP firm is now one of the most active at the pan-European court with international teams representing, for example, Sun Patent Trust in a dispute with Vivo, Gilead in a case against AMMS, Intel against Papst Licensing and new client AorticLab.

One of the largest teams in the French market, Hoyng ROKH Monégier recently saw some staff changes. Partner and litigator Sophie Micallef, who was known for representing Bouygues Telecom in the complex battle against Intellectual Ventures, left to pursue a career as a judge. The team also gained an experienced patent attorney and mechanical engineering expert from Hoffmann Eitle. With the promotion of young partner Agathe Caillé, who is already making a name for herself in the market, the firm once more demonstrates its ability to build up new talent from within its own ranks.
