Joining Nordmeyer are patent attorneys Andreas Brzank, Adrianus van den Berg, Johannes Wirth and Benjamin Zang, as well as a patent engineer, all of whom have a similar focus to Nordmeyer. The team provides strategic advice and represents clients in proceedings before the EPO, the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and the Federal Patent Court.
“Joining Maucher Jenkins offers us a great opportunity to further develop our expertise in an internationally focused law firm with a dynamic outlook. We look forward to working with our new colleagues to develop pragmatic and practical solutions for our clients,” says Nordmeyer.
The IP firm Maucher Jenkins advises on a wide range of technical fields. The German team enjoys particular renown for pharma and biotechnology, as well as mechanics, process and mechanical engineering. The firm has a total of ten offices spanning Germany, the UK, Switzerland and China. International clients such as Contemporary Amperex, Fischerwerke, Qualcomm, Intel and Testo rely on the firm for EPO applications, oppositions and nullity proceedings.
Following the new team’s arrival, Maucher Jenkings now has 36 patent attorneys worldwide. In addition, three lawyers at the Freiburg office, one of whom is dual-qualified, also advise on infringement proceedings. For example, a mixed German-Chinese team led by Freiburg partner and litigator Michael Nielen and partner and patent attorney Handong Ran from Shenzhen represented the Chinese medical technology manufacturer Comen in a dispute against competitor Mindray concerning respiratory machine valve technology.
After the move, 36 patent attorneys remain at df-mp, including two dual-qualified fee earners and one lawyer. The renowned Munich IP firm is primarily known for patent litigation in disputes over pharmaceutical/biotech and mobile communications patents. It regularly advises on the technical side of infringement proceedings and conducts nullity actions alongside lawyers from other law firms. Nordmeyer and his team played a smaller role in infringement proceedings than other partners in the firm.
