JUVE reveals nominees in IP for JUVE Awards Germany 2023

Today JUVE announced the shortlist for this year’s JUVE Awards Germany, including the renowned JUVE IP Law Firm of the Year, and the IP In-house Team of the Year. The JUVE Awards cover Germany only and there are five nominees in each category.

The nominees for JUVE IP Law Firm of the Year are:

• DLA Piper
• JBB Rechtsanwälte
• SKW Schwarz
• Taylor Wessing

The nominees for IP In-house Team of the Year are:

• Birkenstock
• Deutsche Telekom
• Huawei
• Hartmann
• Siemens

Top draw

Each year, JUVE presents an award for JUVE IP Firm of the Year to one particular German law firm in recognition of its eminent work over the past year. Firms are nominated for their strong performance and strategic development in soft IP, patent law or both.  The dynamism in the IP practice and successful handling of big-ticket cases are also taken into account.

Similarly, the award for IP In-house Team of the Year recognises a German in-house team for its exceptional work and dynamic growth. Teams in both soft IP and patent law come under the judges’ consideration.

In 2022, JUVE IP Law Firm of the Year was awarded to Hogan Lovells. The judges singled out the firm for its work for Apple and Oppo in the two most important global mobile communication SEP cases, as well as its life sciences litigation for clients such as Eli Lilly.

The award for In-house IP Team of the Year 2022 went to BioNTech for the remarkable growth strategy of its IP department over the past three years.
