Anaïs Pallut and Annabelle Divoy’s new firm Pairs Law will cover the full range of IP matters, including patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and software, but with a clear focus on patent litigation. Both lawyers have several years of experience in well-established patent litigation teams such as August Debouzy, Aramis and Hoyng ROKH Monegier.

Experience across the board

Anaïs Pallut (38), who JUVE Patent listed on its 2024 Ones to Watch in French litigation, gained her first practical experience in patent litigation during an internship in 2013 at what was then Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) in a case between Apple and Samsung. After a stint in the soft IP team at full-service firm hw&h, Pallut moved to mixed IP firm Loyer & Abello in autumn 2015. Nearly two years later, she moved to Hoyng ROKH Monegier where founding partner Denis Monégier du Sorbier became her mentor.

Over the subsequent six and a half years at the leading IP boutique, she became familiar with the firm’s intense teamwork in pan-European patent litigation. As an associate, she was deeply involved in the dispute over veterinary medication for Ceva Santé Animale against Bayer.

Shortly after the UPC launched on 1 June 2023, Pallut decided to move to another market leader, August Debouzy. Here, she gained further litigation experience acting for Japanese medical device company Nipro against Fresenius, as well as carrying out extensive work for Thales, Virbac and Michelin. For the latter, she was also involved in UPC proceedings against Goodyear.

Focus on telecommunications

Annabelle Divoy (35) started her career as a lawyer at Hoyng ROKH Monegier in 2017, where she met Pallut. In the six years she spent there, she became involved in numerous patent litigation proceedings with a particular focus on telecommunications. She was part of the team around Sabine Agé, which represented Philips in several disputes against TCL, Xiaomi and Thales. Divoy was also on the team representing Orange in the battle against Intellectual Ventures as well as Conversant in its dispute with LG. Furthermore, she worked on cases for clients in other sectors such as cosmetics company L’Oréal and wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa.

In spring 2023 Divoy joined Aramis, working in the IP team around Benjamin May for clients such as Fresenius (against Nipro), Zentiva (against Eli Lilly) and Belmoca (against Koninklijke Douwe Egberts). When the majority of the team moved to Jeantet in early 2025, she decided against joining and instead worked in her own independent law firm before joining forces with Anaïs Pallut to launch Pairs.

Besides the focus on patent litigation at the UPC and national courts, the boutique firm will also handle matters of trade secrets, unfair competition, parasitic behaviour, personal data, privacy and image rights.
