The lawyers at this medium-sized law firm have been actively representing their regular clients in proceedings since the UPC was established. However, in January 2025, the Hamburg team will break away and establish a new law firm together with two lawyers in Paris and a partner in Munich. The new outfit, under the name Bonabry, will comprise three partners in Hamburg, including Daniel Hoppe, who is currently conducting the proceedings for Stada against Sanofi over cabazitaxel, and Konstantin Schallmoser. The latter is currently conducting many of the UPC proceedings, for example preservation of evidence for Primetals Technologies Austria against Danieli. Other examples include his work for Decathlon against five Schwarz Group subsidiaries including Lidl, as well as appeal and damages proceedings for Fives against REEL.

A total of 28 lawyers will remain at Preu Bohlig in Munich, Düsseldorf and Berlin. These have so far mainly conducted UPC proceedings for their medium-sized core clients in various technologies, for example for Collomix over water dispensers and Primetails over a steel strip plant. These cases show that the firm can support its core clients from national proceedings in UPC proceedings as well. In addition, Preu Bohlig continues to rely heavily on its well-established, long-standing relationships with external patent attorneys. Furthermore, both Preu Bohlig and the team that will become Bonabry have experience in pharmaceutical litigation for generic drug companies against originators, which is reflected in the representation of Stada at the UPC.
