Bosch Jehle – Germany 2026
Rankings
JUVE Comment
This Munich patent attorney firm continues to have an excellent reputation in litigation concerning communications technology, semiconductors, and electronics patents. While its small prosecution practice focuses on these technical sectors, the team around Thomas Hell and Rudolf Reichold primarily handles long-running litigation campaigns for patent owners and NPEs such as Voice Age, Crystal Clear Codec or AtlasGlobal against implementers. The firm maintains limited involvement in other technical fields.
Bosch Jehle’s successful representation of VoiceAge against HMD in the dispute over speech coding for mobile devices continued into 2025, after the German Federal Court of Justice ruled in favour of VoiceAge in a landmark decision on German SEP law. In this campaign, the patent attorneys work seamlessly alongside lawyers from independent firm Wildanger. The two firms have developed an almost symbiotic relationship in NPE litigation, jointly conducting extensive proceedings for clients including Atlas Global, Crystal Clear Codec, and K.Mizra. Nevertheless, both maintain their independence. Bosch Jehle also collaborates with other firms – for instance, representing Pantech with Ampersand and Mayer Brown, and Wilan with Arnold Ruess.
Bosch Jehle regularly coordinates pan-European proceedings for its NPE clients. For a while, the firm’s UPC litigation activity lagged behind that of some competitors like df-mp or Cohausz & Florack. However, this changed when Atlas Global instructed Bosch Jehle and Wildanger to file four infringement suits against TP-Link and Vantiva at the UPC. Another new instruction on the claimant’s side followed with Maxell, which Bosch Jehle represents alongside Mayer Brown in a UPC case against Samsung. Bosch Jehle has recently demonstrated through a major instruction from AsusTech against UPC claims brought by Ericsson that, despite its strong presence amongst SEP holders, it also attracts work from implementers. This shows that the patent attorneys are regarded as long-standing experts in the SEP field, and that their litigation activities are scalable on both the claimant and implementer sides. To achieve this, however, Bosch Jehle must expand its staff to handle multiple national and UPC proceedings in parallel.
