MFG Meyer-Wildhagen Meggle-Freund Gerhard – Germany 2025
JUVE Comment
This Munich-based IP law firm’s patent attorneys regularly represent mobile phone manufacturers on the implementer side, including Xiaomi, TCL and Honor, in defence against NPE lawsuits. Through this work, the team has developed extensive experience in SEP litigation. Although several major series of proceedings have recently concluded, the team continues to represent its regular clients in new proceedings across related technical fields.
The team enjoys an excellent reputation for patent prosecution in electronics, IT and mechanics. It demonstrates particular strength at the interface with AI, an increasingly important area for clients that distinguishes the team from competitors.
The firm’s continued dynamic growth is reflected in its team structure. Having recently added two patent attorneys previously trained in-house, it stands out as one of the few firms of its size to achieve significant expansion this year.
European set-up
The team’s sustained development positions MFG well to handle substantial UPC proceedings. From the court’s inception, the team has represented its regular clients in UPC cases and has recently expanded this work with additional proceedings. This makes it one of the firms with more UPC cases than German court proceedings. In Frank Meyer-Wildhagen and Martin Meggle-Freund, the firm has two highly visible experts representing Asian implementers in the mobile communications sector. Well-established relationships with law firms such as Noerr, Simmons & Simmons and Taliens support this development.
Strengths
