Glawe Delfs Moll – Germany 2026
JUVE Comment
The restructuring of its business towards its Hamburg headquarters and a focus on work as a pure patent attorney firm in 2024 and 2025 have recently begun to bear fruit. This small but well-regarded German patent attorney firm litigates in two key areas: electronics and EPO oppositions.
The patent attorneys have steadily built up a strong track record in representing Asian implementers of mobile communications technology. For Acer, Claus Becker and Philipp Harlfinger are once again working alongside Taliens’ lawyers in a major battle over SEPs. This most recent case against Nokia concerned video codec standards.
In addition to working alongside specialist litigation firms, Glawe Delfs Moll is regularly involved in EPO proceedings on behalf of clients such as Zeiss SMT, Semiconductor Energy Laboratory, and Waldemar Link concerning electronics and mechanics patents as well as medical technology. The patent attorneys assist these clients not only with patent filings but also intensively in EPO opposition proceedings. Through their work for Lufthansa Technik and Siemens Gamesa, the patent attorneys have also built specialist expertise in the technical fields of transportation and environmental technology.
Although the firm’s litigation practice continues to focus primarily on domestic and EPO proceedings, Glawe Delfs Moll has recently expanded its presence at the UPC, working alongside Acer. Before this, the firm was already defending Omnipac against competitor Brødrene Hartmann in a UPC lawsuit concerning egg cartons. However, other patent attorney firms with a similarly good reputation and of a comparable size, such as Thum IP, are significantly more active in UPC litigation
