If there is one criticism to be made of this market-leading Dutch patent litigation firm, it is that, after having positioned new young talent in the market many years in a row, it failed to do this in 2024. Otherwise, the Amsterdam IP boutique has had a successful year, including its activities at the UPC.

Over the last two years, this well-positioned Dutch patent litigation team has undergone a generational change that many competitors often overlook. Young partner Peter van Gemert led the Dutch case for Nokia against Oppo in 2023 along with senior partner Wouter Pors until the dispute was settled in 2024. Van Gemert is also leading several proceedings for KPN, with Tjibbe Douma also leading numerous cases for Edwards Lifesciences.

Young partner Jeroen Boelens managed to maintain this despite the loss of long-standing team leader Anne Marie Verschuur in 2023 to De Brauw.
