Patent attorney Christian Heine (52) joins Heuking’s patent team at the start of the new year. The physicist, with a minor in medicine, comes on board as a salaried partner.
Heine was previously one of the founding partners of law firm Keenway. Since 2023, he has worked as a sole practitioner and collaborated with Heuking on various client matters.
Heine brings extensive experience in medical technology. He will complement the life sciences team, which moved from Taylor Wessing to Heuking in September.
The team, led by Manja Epping and Stefanie Greifeneder, has many years of experience advising on pharmaceuticals, biotech and medical devices. They specialise in regulatory issues relating to clinical trials, approval, manufacture and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Licence agreements and research and development collaborations are also among their areas of expertise. Epping, who enjoys a long-standing reputation in the market, also conducts litigation at the interface of regulatory law and IP.
Heine also augments the technical expertise of the mixed patent team, which comprises two other patent attorneys from the fields of physics and electrical engineering.
