Andrejewski Honke – Germany 2024
JUVE Comment
This patent attorney firm based in Essen is firmly rooted among its clients in mechanics and chemical engineering. It has a good reputation for prosecution, EPO oppositions, appeals before the German Federal Patent Court and national nullity actions.
Its regular clients include German medium-sized companies such as KHS, Novoferm and Wessel-Werk, as well as European industrial companies such as Mondi and TI Automotive. The team is developing solidly and consistently by training its own patent attorneys. This provides clients with continuity, but it also means the client base is developing in a less dynamic way.
European set-up
Even though Andrejewski Honke has rarely been involved in international patent proceedings up to now, the firm is representing a client at the UPC that it previously only represented nationally. The case concerns regular client Franz Kaldewei, a German manufacturer of bathroom fixtures, and the team is working closely with the market-leading litigation boutique Arnold Ruess.
This case is a good example of the role that Andrejewski Honke could play at the UPC. The court’s scope will be attractive to many of the firm’s medium-sized core clients, including consumer goods manufacturers. The team’s well-established relationships with experienced patent litigators such as Arnold Ruess, Kather Augenstein or Klaka will come in useful.
