Dr. Anke Nest­ler is a recognized expert in damage calculations and licensing in IP disputes.

She provides clients in various industries with expert opinions on damages in infringement cases before civil courts and in arbitration proceedings. As a pub­licly ap­pointed and sworn expert for the valu­ation of in­tangible assets, she is officially recognized as expert witness for German courts. Dr. Nestler has also extensive experience as an expert witness in oral hearings. Based on her broad experience, she is highly skilled to support as damage calculation expert in disputes at the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

As a Cer­ti­fied Li­cens­ing Pro­fes­sional (CLP), she demonstrates her special expertise in licensing issues of intangible assets. On a regular basis she is involved in the financial terms of complex licensing strategies of patents and patent portfolios and has specific expertise in Fair, Reasonable and Non-discriminatory (“FRAND”) licensing of standard-essential patents.

As being involved in IP disputes for a long time, she also assists her clients in dispute advisory, whether at an early stage of the process by considering financial risks caused by probable patent infringements or at the beginning of a dispute by providing potential damage claim calculations.

Dr. Nestler is member of the Board of the LES Licensing Executive Society in Germany, chairs the IP Valuation Working Group and is Vice President of the LES International IP Valuation Committee. She has been awarded several times by Who’s Who Legal as Arbitration Expert Witness and as Consulting Expert in the area of Quantum of Damages.
