JUVE Patent identified nine up-and-coming talents 2025. Sie kommen aus deutschen und UK patent firms. Two of this year's Ones to Watch work in the most prestigious UK barrister sets.

While in previous years many SEP specialists have made it onto the list of up-and-coming talents, JUVE Patent’s Ones to Watch 2025 demonstrates that a narrow specialisation is no longer the sole prerequisite for establishing a footprint in the patent market. Experience in international disputes, on the other hand, is increasingly proving to be a decisive factor. All nine current Ones to Watch are working on cross-border or UPC cases.
However, the JUVE Patent Ones to Watch are by no means all lawyers. With Lara Gwinner and Swenja Schwandt, two patent attorneys with litigation experience have found their way onto the list. Edmund Eustace also started as a patent attorney and joined one of London’s most renowned IP barrister sets. Like up-and-coming colleague Thomas Lundt, both young talents have already made a name for themselves in SEP cases.
The candidates come from those countries for which JUVE Patent recently published litigation rankings. Five lawyers and patent attorneys come from Germany and four from the UK. JUVE Patent did not publish a Ones to Watch list for UPC litigation.
In December, JUVE Patent published a ranking for UPC litigation for the second time. However, the editorial team decided again not to publish an accompanying Ones to Watch list because it remains a very new market for all representatives working at the new court. No matter whether junior or senior litigator, partner or associate, lawyer or patent attorney, all UPC representatives have had the same starting conditions.
Nevertheless, during our research JUVE Patent found that working for the UPC continues to offer young litigators greater opportunities to present themselves in the market than was previously the case in national litigation. Many of this year’s Ones to Watch also boast a strong footprint in UPC cases.
These are the JUVE Patent Ones to Watch 2025 for the national UK and German markets in alphabetical order. Read JUVE Patent’s detailed profiles on each of the nine patent litigators:
