JUVE Patent

Jones Day – France 2026

JUVE Comment

This French patent litigation practice led by the renowned Thomas Bouvet has recently strengthened its position as a sought-after, experienced outfit whilst competitors grapple with declining caseloads. Jones Day handles patent litigation for regular clients such as Coloplast and new clients including Wybotics.

Beyond its established specialism in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical device manufacture, the team maintains expertise across a wide range of technologies. The practice recently bolstered its team with an experienced dual-qualified associate. This appointment strengthens its Paris practice for UPC cases while also filling a gap in the team’s own line-up, though this had been less significant due to close collaboration with Jones Day patent attorneys in Germany.

The French team has made notable progress in this arena. For instance, Bouvet is leading the case for SEB in proceedings against SharkNinja at the Paris local division and co-leading matters for Ecovacs and Peri alongside the German team. The team draws on experience gained working with German colleagues in joint work, as well as providing background support in a matter alongside Hogan Lovells for Reel.
