JUVE Patent

Andrejewski Honke – Germany 2025

JUVE Comment

This medium-sized patent law boutique from Germany’s Ruhr region has established a strong reputation for comprehensive prosecution and litigation support in mechanical and chemical engineering patents. The team provides extensive guidance to its established client base of German SMEs and European industrial companies, including Mondi, in EPO oppositions, DPMA proceedings and nullity actions. Working alongside external litigation boutiques such as Rospatt, Kather Augenstein and Arnold Ruess, the team also supports these clients in infringement proceedings.

European set-up

Although Andrejewski Honke successfully represented long-standing client Franz Kaldewei, a German bathroom fixtures manufacturer, in early UPC proceedings, it has not handled any new UPC cases since. This is unsurprising, as even before the UPC’s launch, the firm focused primarily on national rather than pan-European litigation. However, should its prosecution clients – particularly consumer goods manufacturers – pursue or face UPC litigation, the firm’s strong relationships with patent litigators such as Arnold Ruess and Kather Augenstein could prove valuable.

Strengths

Nullity and opposition proceedings with technical expertise in engineering, especially for the automotive and sanitation industries.
