About Dr. Alexander Reetz, LL.M.

Alexander Reetz, LL.M. specializes in all aspects of patent law and technical copyright law. He has specific expertise in all aspects of IP litigation, i.e. representation in infringement and nullity/opposition/cancellation proceedings, coordination of patent disputes and cross-border work, evidentiary seizures, border seizures, and enforcement counter-measures.

Dr. Reetz has represented mobile device manufacturers and a network operator in numerous highly litigious matters relating to SEPs and non-SEPs over the past decade. However, his litigation experience extends to various fields of technology, and includes semiconductors and electronics, robotics, mechanical engineering, activity tracking (medical devices and wearables), and software.

Dr. Reetz studied law in Cologne, Aberdeen (UK) and Stellenbosch (RSA). He received his doctorate degree from University of Cologne for a fundamental rights-dogmatic study of the law and history governing university inventors and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Aberdeen (UK). He has joined Wildanger in January 2019 as a partner. He brings with him over 15 years of litigation experience.

Dr. Reetz is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright and the German group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights.
