About Dr.-Ing. Alexander Schlotter
Dr.-Ing. Alexander Schlotter is one of the founding partners of the firm. He holds a doctorate in engineering and became active in the filed of IP in 2001 after runing his own engineering firm (developing simulation software e.g. for MAN and Daimler) and is admitted as a German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and European Patent Litigator (UPC).
In his daily practice, Dr.-Ing. Schlotter is particularly involved in drafting, obtaining, and defending patents for his clients as well as disputing opposing patents before the German and European Patent Office, the Federal Patent Court and Federal Court of Justice. Dr.-Ing. Schlotter regularly represents his clients in infringement proceedings before the civil courts, advises them on patent strategy issues, and has particular expertise in literally hundreds of oral proceedings with a strong success rate.
He was a member of the examination board for Patent Attorneys. In 2012, Dr.-Ing. Schlotter was offered a post as professor for intellectual property law at OTH Amberg-Weiden (Technical University of Applied Sciences) and is recommend by rankings like IAM, IP Stars and others.
Due to his technical and patent law expertise, Dr.-Ing. Schlotter is particularly involved with problems concerning computer-implemented inventions, as well as those with a mechanical, control, and medical technology background.
