JUVE Patent

Lorenz Seidler Gossel – Germany 2024

JUVE Comment

The patent attorneys at this Munich IP boutique provide their international clients with comprehensive services in prosecution, litigation, nullity proceedings, and EPO oppositions. They also frequently work with the firm’s own lawyers in infringement proceedings. The practice was strengthened through the internal appointment of Xiaodi Wang as partner. Wang maintains good contacts to Chinese battery companies and through her involvement, work has seen dynamic development, such as that for CATL.

Lorenz Seidler Gossel has good contacts to Asian clients, which are expanding their work with the firm, for example the Chinese train manufacturer CRRC. Younger partners also extended work for the Korean SK Group concerning chemicals patents.

One of the team’s strengths is EPO oppositions, in which they represent regular client Liebherr intensively. The firm’s regular clients include German medium-sized companies. Lorenz Seidler Gossel also has excellent connections in the automotive industry, for example to Ford and Mazda.

European set-up

The firm’s clients are not yet using the UPC, though the court may attract some of the practice’s medium-sized clientele in future with its wide reach and fast decisions. However, competition for UPC work is high and Lorenz Seidler Gossel is competing with both mixed outfits and national patent attorney boutiques. This will show how strong the firm’s relationships with its core clients really are.
