JUVE Patent

Glawe Delfs Moll – Germany 2024

JUVE Comment

The patent attorneys at this small German firm have a well-known patent litigation practice in electronics, mobile communications and mechanics. Examples of their high-volume proceedings include the work for Semiconductor Energy Laboratory against Xiaomi over OLED technology and Signify over LED lamps. In such extensive litigation series, the patent attorneys call in external lawyers, such as from the litigation boutique Kather Augenstein.

Christof Keussen is renowned for technically complex electronics and mechanics cases, whereas Philipp Harlfinger is known for his experience in mobile communications.

Medium-sized companies in northern and southern Germany respect the prosecution practice and it is regularly instructed by the national subsidiaries of international companies. Recently, for example, the firm has seen dynamic growth in its prosecution work for Carl Zeiss Vision International.

European set-up

The patent attorneys have experience in large-scale litigation, in which they regularly call on external lawyers from leading patent litigation firms. They are thus well prepared if their clients are drawn into UPC proceedings. The team is already defending Omnipac against competitor Brødrene Hartmann in a UPC lawsuit concerning egg cartons. How many UPC proceedings Glawe Delfs Moll will conduct in future depends less on the competition between law firms and more on the prosecution strategies of its core clients. So far, some of these clients have preferred to file national patents.
