Peterreins Schley – Germany 2025

JUVE Comment

This Munich-based mixed IP law firm boasts a strong litigation practice for various clients, primarily in electronics. The team regularly represents clients from the telecommunications and medical technology sectors. A recent highlight was its work for Insulet.

The firm’s success and high visibility stem from the excellent reputation of Thomas Adam’s team in representing NPEs. Regular clients include Daedalus Prime, Headwater Research and Pictiva.

Additionally, Frank Peterreins and Jan-Malte Schley are frequently involved in EPO oppositions. They act for major players in medical device manufacturing, such as Boston Scientific. With this line-up, the team ranks among the frontrunners in the German market.

European set-up

The mixed team is not only one of Germany’s rising stars but is also enhancing its profile and visibility, particularly through extensive representation in UPC proceedings. The team is pursuing cases on behalf of Insulet, Daedalus Prime and Headwater Research, for example. Most recently, Peterreins Schley filed a lawsuit for Malikie against Nintendo concerning SEPs from a portfolio previously owned by BlackBerry. For Insulet, the firm secured a sales ban against Eoflow and a settlement with Menarini. This demonstrates a remarkably strong start at the UPC, even compared to other firms with deep roots in NPE and medical technology work. Peterreins Schley has now amassed substantial experience that it can leverage in future proceedings for its clients.

Strengths
