Mitscherlich, Patent- und Rechtsanwälte PartmbB

Founded more than 125 years ago in Berlin, Mitscherlich moved to Munich, the center of European IP, after the Second World War. Ever since then, Mitscherlich’s development on the level of both partners and clients reflects its core values of stability and reliability. Today, Mitscherlich is perhaps one of the smallest among the largest German IP law firms, with approximately 30 highly experienced attorneys and a combined staff of more than 100 employees. Together with its extensive international network of distinguished patent professionals, this dedicated team efficiently serves all IP-related needs of its domestic and international client base –from the drafting to the enforcement of all IP rights, and from the commercialization to the defense against third-party attacks.

Client Relations

Mitscherlich has always prioritized direct exchange with its clients, which enables its attorneys to better understand client needs, taking into account even subtle technological nuances and market particularities. This attention is also given to important “soft” factors for clients, such as their national and cultural identities and special communicative needs, so they receive precisely the attention they deserve.

Mitscherlich’s commitment to providing the highest quality advice and representation services to its clients compels its professionals to keep learning and to stay abreast of the fast pace of technical innovation and the development of IP law. In this pursuit, Mitscherlich’s attorneys regularly visit their clients’ factories and offices; their drive for close contact promotes a better understanding of the clients’ ideas and concerns.

This rigorous focus on the specific needs of Mitscherlich’s clients is reflected in the large number of decades-old and loyal relationships with clients from every technical sector.

Team

Mitscherlich has a dedicated team with top legal and technical qualifications that offers close and personal service. The team has a thorough understanding of the industrial sector and the concerned technologies, with both their inherent risks and prospects for intellectual property.

Mitscherlich’s large prosecution teams work enthusiastically to produce high-quality patents, trademarks and designs in order to protect its clients’ R&D investments and ultimately safeguard their intellectual assets against their competitors.

The firm’s patent attorneys represent and advise a colorful variety of clients in patent drafting, prosecution and opposition proceedings before the European and German patent offices, regularly supplementing the clients’ strategic decisions by preparing clear and concise FTOs. They also actively engage in litigation proceedings before the German civil courts and the UPC. Mitscherlich’s patent attorneys cover almost every conceivable technical background, allowing the firm to actively support clients from a multitude of technical sectors, including:

Overall, Mitscherlich’s clientele greatly benefits from close collaboration with its accomplished attorneys-at-law and patent attorneys specializing in all technical fields. This one-stop shop approach facilitates quick and comprehensive counseling in a wide variety of proceedings, including infringement actions, preliminary injunction proceedings, site inspection proceedings and nullity actions. For complex cases, Mitscherlich composes a tailored team of attorneys to ensure that all pertinent legal and technical issues are covered, which guarantees fast and efficient action.

Location

Its office in the inner center of Munich places Mitscherlich at an important junction of intellectual property prosecution and litigation.

The headquarters of the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office, as well as the German Federal Patent Court, are all located in this beautiful city in the heart of Bavaria.

The Regional Court and Higher Regional Court of Munich, as well as the very busy Munich Local Division of the Unified Patent Court, are just a stone’s throw away from Mitscherlich’s office, and the Munich section of the UPC’s Central Division is close by.
