Sebastian Strych heads the Mitscherlich’s chemistry and life science practice group. He began his career in intellectual property in 2013 and joined Mitscherlich in 2016. Since 2020, he is a partner in the firm.
Sebastian Strych is regularly involved in all aspects of patent prosecution (advising, drafting, prosecution, portfolio management etc.), post-grant proceedings (opposition, opposition appeal etc.), opinion work (infringement opinions, validity opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions, patent landscaping, due-diligence etc.) as well as strategic advice in particular in the technical field of food chemistry, consumer products chemistry, polymer chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He is authorized to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), the German Federal Patent Court (GFPC), the European Patent Office (EPO), the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
