JUVE Patent

Hogarth Chambers – UK 2021

JUVE Comment

Hogarth Chambers is predominantly a chancery set with a strong soft IP and patent offering. Of its team, two silks specialise in patent matters and are often seen in patent cases around technical aspects of law, such as mechanical or automotive patents. An example is Michael Hicks work for Geofabrics against Fiberweb, and the set’s representation of Shenzhen Carku against Noco over patents for car battery jump start devices. The firm has a clear specialty in such cases. However, it is not yet visible in any major FRAND or telecommunications disputes. It is also yet to appear in any high-stakes pharmaceutical litigation or policy-centred disputes, for example over SPCs. The set is often visible in complex soft IP disputes.
