JUVE Patent

JUVE Patent Law Firm of the Year – Germany 2021

Wildanger Kehrwald Graf v. Schwerin & Partner

It was an extraordinary performance. The Düsseldorf IP firm not only handled many cases across a broad technical spectrum, but was involved in a vast number of mobile communications suits. However, this was just the crowning achievement in an already outstanding year.

Partners were extremely visible in advice to SEP holders on FRAND issues, boasting clients such as Sharp, IP Bridge and VoiceAge EVS. They were at the forefront of the battle against anti-suit injunctions from Chinese courts. Peter-Michael Weisse and younger partners Soenke Fock and Jasper Meyer zu Riemsloh were more active than ever for Sharp and IP Bridge in battling Daimler over connected cars patents – the second hot topic when it comes to global mobile communication cases. The quick and successful integration of partner Alexander Reetz means the firm can now handle such litigation projects in parallel.

Despite the dominance of mobile communications litigation, however, Wildanger’s real strength remains its broad-based work on pharma, medical technology and mechanical patents. During the corona pandemic, for example, the firm represented BioNTech in a dispute over mRNA. This case demonstrates the great trust Wildanger enjoys among companies in the life sciences sector when it comes to key innovations. The regular litigation work of partners Eva Geschke, Roland Kehrwald and Wolf Graf von Schwerin for notable corporates such as BSH, Henkel, Infineon and the LG Group further underscores Wildanger’s sustained position as a market-leading litigation firm.
