JUVE Patent

Samson & Partner – Germany 2017

JUVE Comment

This recommended, pure patent attorney firm operates a renowned prosecution practice, but stands out in the market for its impressive list of litigation instructions involving mobile communications patents, where clients include Deutsche Telekom, Apple and Nokia. Thanks to its in-depth sector expertise, highly praised (incl. by clients) litigation experience, and law firm connections, S&P is well set for the long term. But this exceptional position no longer appears untouchable, as S&P did not work for regular client Nokia in the year’s pivotal battle against Apple. On top of this, Nokia advisor Bird & Bird is positioning its own patent attorneys with the Finnish company ever more effectively. Hoyng ROKH Monegier, perhaps S&P’s most important partner firm, also has its own patent attorneys in Amsterdam now. The firm could secure its excellent starting position for the UPC with more direct company contacts, like those to Nokia’s litigation department.
