JUVE Comment

This Munich IP boutique around Laufhütte is a leading name for patents and provides extensive advice on patent filing and patent litigation. The practice is characterized by close cooperation between its patent attorneys and lawyers, but did not stand out this year in the major infringement proceedings. The strong filing activity gained ground, with much activity for the Mittelstand in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. Alongside already good direct contacts in Japan, LSG is now building on its work with a Chinese element. A patent attorney completed her training as a Chinese patent attorney and landed filing work. Consistently strong Asian activity would offer LSG the opportunity to position itself further in the new European patent system as an independent litigation team. It will become clear when the UPC opens its doors whether or not LSG’s network of European firms will convince clients to hire it for the much anticipated complex proceedings.
