JUVE Comment
This respected patent attorney firm is very visible with its approach geared largely towards litigation. Unlike many competitors on the patent attorney side, the firm is active in pharmaceuticals and mobile communications suits to an equal degree. With this strategy, it will be able to play a role in the UPC system. In pharmaceuticals proceedings, the patent attorneys were as busy as ever litigating in opposition and nullity suits for generics manufacturers as well as originators. They are also visible in infringement proceedings, for instance for Teva in connection with drospirenone. Molnia and his IT/telecoms team are very active on the side of NPEs – more for Unwired Planet now than for IPCom. Despite the move of a salary partner to a Munich competitor, the filing practice, which is well positioned in Munich and offers a broad technical spectrum, remains the basis for excellent litigation work. On balance, the practice even grew.
