JUVE Patent

Jones Day – France 2020

JUVE Comment

The patent litigation team of this US firm frequently litigates for its clients in all technical fields and is particularly well known for expertise in the life sciences and pharma sectors. In these fields, the firm has been battling in France’s highest profile cases of the year in agriculture over Pink Lady apples before the General Court of the European Union. The Paris office has stepped up litigation work for US, German and UK clients significantly of late; it was previously best known for soft IP and contracts advice. With the arrival of the renowned Thomas Bouvet and his team the practice has made great strides and established itself in patents. The team came in 2017 from Véron & Associés, a leading patent litigation boutique, which has since dissolved.

Strengths

Integrated patent litigation in Europe and the US.

European strategy

The French practice works closely with the German and US practices, handling a particularly large number of cases with German patent attorneys. The team shares numerous clients with the solid German practice, such as Coloplast. The London patents team is also well positioned.
