JUVE Comment
This IP boutique is increasingly becoming one of the premier firms in the Viennese IP market. This is thanks not only to its consistently partner-centric approach, but also its intensive advice on the interface of IP and IT law. The partners are skilled when it comes to IT, as demonstrated by their development of IT-supported research solutions for clients, even if some of these solutions are yet to become established in the market. Constantin Kletzer and Rainer Schultes now boast a considerable market presence for their patent litigation. The latter frequently represents pharma companies in suits as both plaintiff and defendant. Kletzer recently attracted attention with his litigation for Tele Tan against Austrian banks. In addition, all partners advise on trademarks and unfair competition. The strategy of partners providing advice singlehandedly is a trademark that few of the boutique’s rivals can offer. However, the firm will need to think about further training for its junior lawyers if it is to keep up with the demands of its international clients, especially in patent disputes.
