About Dr. Stephan Jellbauer
Stephan is the youngest partner at Weickmann & Weickmann’s Chemistry and Life Sciences Department. He has extensive experience in drafting of patent applications, patent prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office in all fields of chemistry, particularly in biochemistry, pharma and consumer products. A further focus of his work is the preparation of freedom-to-operate analyses. Stephan regularly gives strategic advice on patent portfolios and develops IP strategies together with his clients.
Stephan has studied biochemistry (Diplom) at the University of Regensburg. During his studies, he spent almost a year as a research assistant at the Università degli Studi di Siena, Italy. Stephan obtained his PhD from the Gene Center at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich in 2009.
Since 2013, he is German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, in 2014 he was registered additionally as a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney.
Stephan’s mother tongue is German, and he fluently speaks English and Italian.
