Markus is partner in the engineering department of Weickmann & Weickmann. Markus’ clients are i. a. active in the automotive field as well as in the fields of mechanics, e.g. bridge suspension systems, floor coverings, drainage system, fastening systems, medical lighting systems, electronics including communication systems, software inventions including AI related inventions. As patent attorney most of his time he advises on patent portfolio management including drafting of applications and is involved in patent/utility model litigation before the EPO and the German Courts. He has profound experience in preparing FTO, infringement and validity opinions. Markus studied physics in Munich. He specialized in solid state physics and obtained his PhD in semiconductor physics in 1990. Since 1993 he is German patent attorney as well as European trademark and design attorney, since 1994 he is European patent attorney. In addition, Markus qualified as business mediator (CVM). Furthermore, Markus is associate judge in the senate for patent-attorney matters at the German Federal Court of Justice and a member of the Managing Board of the Christiane Herzog-Stiftung.
