Brigitte is a partner in Weickmann & Weickmann’s chemistry/life science department. She advises and represents national and international clients in all IP related matters in the fields of inorganic and organic chemistry as well as biochemistry and pharmaceuticals. Brigitte works in prosecution as well as litigation of patents. She represents her client’s cases and inventions before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office and, through a network of colleagues, helps obtaining protection all over the world. Besides patent drafting and prosecution, she is experienced in handling oppositions and invalidation/nullity proceedings. In patent infringement litigation, Brigitte cooperates with attorneys at law and provides the technical expertise for written submissions and during oral proceedings before the competent German courts.
Brigitte obtained her diploma in chemistry and biochemistry from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Also at the LMU, she conducted research for her PhD thesis on interactions of certain proteins of SV40 virus. She is a German patent attorney and a European patent and trademark attorney and became a partner at Weickmann and Weickmann in 1992.
